My thoughts on Plagiarism

From my knowledge and experiences, plagiarism is taking someone else’s work. If I am writing a report and I use someone’s thoughts or ideas without giving them recognition in my work. I am plagiarizing. I need to do in-text citation when I am quoting someone else’s work, word for word. If I simply “take” someone’s ideas but put them in my own words I still need to give the author recognition. I need to make sure I reference their work in my citation worksheet at the end of my essay.

  1. Araceli, I agree with your thoughts on plagiarism. Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and not giving the author, or whomever created the work, recognition. You are correct, we do need to do in-text citations when quoting someone else's work. Great job!
